Looking for something a bit more advanced? Or do you have difficulty achieving the right fit from a pattern? Or maybe you are making something very special that you want to make sure it’s right before you cut the fabric! In this class, learn how to alter a store bought commercial pattern while creating a muslin first fit sample, making necessary pattern corrections and remaking sample in actual fabric. You decide what you will be learning, because you choose the pattern! Note: Some outside of class sewing may be required depending on the difficulty of the project. You may come to first class with muslin already sewn or partially completed. Good project choices are something that requires a more precise fit (pants, shirt, jacket or dress) – possibly a more fitted item, or something you have difficulty getting to fit properly. You may choose to also do more than one item if you do most of your sewing at home and use the class more for fitting and pattern alterations.
