Level: Intermediate or Advanced
For students entering 4th -12th
Instructor: Sophie Hood
Camp: Mon-Fri 1pm-4pm
Curious about the emerging world of wearable technology? Wondering about what this even means? In this camp students will learn how to create soft circuits — electronic connections made with conductive thread (instead of wire) in order to, for example, light up LEDs and create sounds. After going through a series of experiments to learn how to create soft circuits and switches, and light up LEDs, students will create their very own techno stuffed animal using their new-found skills! This camp provides a great jumping off point for working with more complicated wearable components such as the lilypad arduino (a wearable, sewable microcontroller).
All supplies are included in the cost of the camp – including the fabric, stuffing and thread for the stuffed animal, plus all the supplies needed to build the circuits, switches and lights.
If you have at least taken the Intro to Sewing classes or camp you may take this camp.
$280 (no supplies needed)
