100 Acts of Sewing Color-blocked Dress

This class is intermediate or adventurous beginner.  It is preferable that you have some prior experience in using a pattern before or some further experience beyond just the Intro to Sewing class.

*Please have 2 copies of the pattern in your size traced and cut out and ready to use.

100 Acts of Sewing Dress No. 1 pattern

note: if you prefer to use Dress No. 2 pattern for an option with sleeves that is alright

At least one spool of all purpose thread to coordinate (may need more for seam finishing depending on how many style lines you create)

The pattern includes only one main dress pattern piece. You will want to trace 2 copies of the original pattern – one to use for front and one for back.  We suggest leaving the original pattern as is and not cutting it so you can save it for future use or future color blocking!  So you will need to have pattern paper or tracing paper at home to be able to trace the pattern.  Some students get creative and use wrapping paper or the paper rolls used in a doctor’s office.  If you haven’t done this before and have questions please ask.

Fabric/Yardage requirements will be determined in the first class when you make the pattern.  So you may purchase fabric in advance, but if you would like to have a more accurate idea of what you need you will want to wait and purchase it after the first class.  Also, if you have any scraps that you would like to incorporate into your design please bring to the first class to ensure that your style line choices will allow for use of the scrap!
