Backpack Camp: The Making Backpack – Virtual
Come make a backpack with us in this week-long kid’s VIRTUAL sewing camp! In this Intermediate level camp students will make a real backpack! This backpack includes a front pocket, interior zippered pocket, and useful top handles for carrying in addition to backpack straps. You’ll learn various bag making techniques such as installing a welt zipper pocket, installing an exposed zipper, attaching webbing, using foam stabilizer, and finishing seams with bias tape. This backpack is the perfect size for adventuring and is a great way to showcase a favorite fabric. For students entering grades 2-9 who have taken at least the Intro to Sewing class or camp. For this Virtual camp, students must be comfortable threading and operating their sewing machine or have an adult nearby to help with sewing machine issues who knows the machine well.
Recommended Experience Level: Intermediate to Advanced Level Experience. Must have taken the Intro to sewing series of classes or camp or have similar experience.
Must know how to thread and operate their own sewing machine at home.
Backpack Finished Dimensions: 11.5″ wide x 15″ tall x 5″ deep
PLEASE NOTE THERE ARE SEVERAL SUPPLIES INCLUDING THE PATTERN THAT ARE INCLUDED IN THE COST OF THE CAMP. THOSE SUPPLIES ARE NOT LISTED. If you place your order with Firecracker, they will notify you when the order is ready for pickup. At pickup please ask for your template and supply kit as well. It is helpful if you let me know you placed your order so I can help to make sure the supplies/kit get into your bag! Even if you don’t order supplies through Firecracker, the supplies that are included, as well as pattern templates, will need to be picked up. It is helpful if you let me know your plans for ordering so we can coordinate this!
