Intro To Quilt Math – Virtual

Learn the basics of planning your own patchwork project, from simple calculations to determining amount of fabric needed. Starting with a simple quilt block and working up to a mocked-up quilt design and creating your own simple block, learn how to transform a sketch into accurate sewing! (Note: there will be a small amount of homework between sessions!)

Pre-Requisites

Advanced Beginner to Intermediate

Student must be comfortable threading and operating their own machine at home.

Supplies

Pencil and eraser
Graph paper (search online for printable graph paper!)
Ruler
Calculator
Scrap fabrics to test sew a quilt block
Printed worksheets (which will be emailed one week before class!)

 

You will also need a laptop, ipad or tablet to connect via zoom. Zoom link to be sent prior to class. You can use a phone but it’s not ideal as the screen is small.

You will also need all your basic sewing tools! Scissors, seam ripper, pins or clips, Iron
