Plushies and Stuffies Camp
We love stuffies! In this fun camp you will get to work on your sewing skills by designing and making one of a kind stuffies. Make them for yourself, or make them for a friend. Then make some accessories to complete their look! This camp is not for newbies. Prior experience needed. For students entering grades 1-9. If you have taken this camp before, you can still take it again and design and make a new stuffed animal! The day 1 plushie as always will also be a new stuffed animal this year!
Prior sewing experience needed, either the Intro to Sewing class/camp or other similar experience. For students Entering Grades 1-9.
Supply List:
1 large spool or 2 small spools of all purpose thread for all projects should be good!
Day 1 Starter Stuffy Project – Frog Plushy!
1/2 yard of main body fabric for frog – quilting cotton or other similar woven fabric
We will use studio scraps or personal scraps for the belly of frog
Will also use studio buttons for frog eyes
1 spool of all purpose thread to match or contrast (there will be some hand sewing!)
Use of stuffing and embroidery floss provided

Project 2 Design a Stuffy
3/4 yard of a woven (non stretch) fabric of your choice to use for the main body of the stuffy. If student is more experienced you may choose a plush fabric like fleece or sweatshirt fleece. No fake fur and preferably no minky as it can be very challenging and frustrating for students to sew. Preferably not super thick as it can become too challenging for kids to sew over if using multiple layers
1/4 yard of a 2nd fabric woven (non-stretch) fabric to incorporate as a contrast for the stuffy or use for accessories (or can be a plush again same notes as above)
Bring in all your favorite scraps from home to incorporate into your stuffy and/or purchase 4-8 of your favorite scraps from Firecrackers scrap basket to make special details/features or accessories
*Stuffing, studio scraps, felt, miscellaneous buttons to use as stuffy details will be provided for use without charge but you are welcome to bring anything you think you may want to incorporate since you will be the designer in this camp! We have fleece scraps to share as well!
