Sweaters & Sweatshirts (Sewing with Knits)
Let’s get cozy this winter and get busy making sweaters and sweartshirts in this 3-part class! You can choose a classic sweatshirt, hoodie or dress, the possibilities are endless! In this class you can choose the pattern (please see details under supply list of our suggestions). For sewists who work quicker if you choose one of the simpler options you may even have time to start a 2nd garment in class! All sewing in this class will be done on a regular sewing machine, so if you want to learn about sewing with stretch fabric without a serger this is a great class for you!
Intermediate or Adventurous Beginner
Student must know how to thread and operate the sewing machine. Preferably this is not your first garment project, however for the more adventurous beginner if you want to give it a shot please sign up!
For the more beginner student stick with a more stable or easy to sew sweatshirt fleece and stay away from fabrics too slinky or stretchy. Also, *most* sweater knits will typically better suited to someone with a bit more experience.
Choose a sweater or sweatshirt pattern of your liking for this class. Firecracker has so many different suitable options. Nothing with a zipper, so it can be a hoodie but not a zip-up hoodie. Here are some suggestions!
