The Basic Quilt

Learn all the steps to make a basic lap quilt from start to finish in this series – from cutting, to piecing, to quilting and binding. This is a great introductory quilting class and perfect for anyone already comfortable on a sewing machine who wants to learn how to quilt and learn the fundamentals of patchwork design. This class is 6 sessions, each 2.5 hours long, and some weeks will involve homework between classes! Please be sure you are comfortable working on your home machine independently.

Pre-Requisites

Recommended Experience Level: Basic sewing machine experience is a must – Julie will of course be ready to troubleshoot and help you improve your sewing machine skills, but you should be comfortable threading and sewing seams with a machine. This is a beginner’s quilt class, but not necessarily a beginner’s sewing class! Otherwise, great for anyone who wants to learn to quilt or improve their basic skills!  You must also have access to a machine outside of class for homework in between classes and be comfortable threading and operating your machine at home.  If you have ONLY  taken the Intro to sewing class AND have not done any sewing at home or in another class you might not quite be ready for this and may want to do a little more practice before joining.  Feel free to check in with us as everyone learns differently and at different speeds.
