All Well Bucket Bag

$98.00

Join local maker Amy Bornman from All Well Workshop as she shows you how to make her All Well Bucket Bag – a classic bucket bag sewing pattern with convertible straps. The bag is unlined and has two exterior pockets and one interior pocket. It is intended to be made in woven heavyweight non-stretch fabric like canvas or similar. This bag pattern is designed to be fun for all sewists, from beginner to advanced, to make. For the class you can choose from two sizes and two strap configurations, creating four unique variations of the bag. Then plan to make lots more for the holidays as gifts!

Fabric
We recommend cotton canvas, duck cloth, or similar, 10oz-12oz weight (339gsm – 407gsm) for best results.
*The amount depends on the bag size you plan to make.

Regular Bag, Backpack or Tote: 1 yard
-OR-
Mini Bag, Backpack or Tote: 3/4 yard

PLUS 1/4 yard of fabric to use for straps.  It can be the same fabric as bag or another woven fabric like a cotton quilting fabric if you want a contrast.

Interior Pocket Fabric can be self canvas or a lighter weight fabric. You can use a leftover scrap from your fabric, or a scrap of fabric from home for the pocket.  Only a small amount it needed.  Or get a fat quarter of fabric.

NOTE: Extra fabric is needed if you want to match plaids, stripes or prints.

Notions

  • 1 spool of all-purpose thread
  • Grommets to be provided!  Do not purchase

  • 72” 1 in. cotton twill tape or one package of 1/2” wide double fold bias tape
