Fashion 101

If you have lots of ideas for designs to make and don’t know where to start this is the class for you!  Using your custom sloper from the fundamentals course or the Made to Measure skirt sloper class (or a sloper provided to you) you will learn how to properly manipulate a pattern to create new skirt designs.  Explore several designs including pencil, flare, circle, bias and a-line.  Learn about creating facings, linings, waistbands and pleats adding seam allowance and notches.  Please note this is not a sewing class, but the first part of a series of patternmaking classes.  THIS CLASS IS A PREREQUISITE FOR FURTHER PATTERNMAKING CLASSES.  This is a 4-week course.

Recommended Experience Level: Intermediate to Advanced
* Prior patternmaking experience not necessary.  However you must have experience using clothing patterns.  Either if you have taken the Basics of Working with a Pattern class or similar experience.
