Description
Instructor: Brad Mumpower
Recommended Experience Level: Intermediate to Advanced Level Experience. Students must have taken the Intro to Sewing camp or series of classes. For students entering grades 3-12.
Supply List:
Each student will make one “full circle” skirt and one “half circle” skirt
If you are using 55-60″ wide fabric you can use the following skirt yardage calculator tool to determine how much you need:
https://byhandlondon.com/pages/circle-skirt-app
You will be doing a shorter skirt, so use either the mini or midi length option depending on the height of your child and how long you want the skirt to be. If you are in between just use the midi length option. You will need to measure your child’s waist to determine. If you are shopping at Firecracker they will be happy to help you with this as well.
If you are using 45″ wide fabric you will need 2 yards of fabric for the half circle skirt and 3.5 yards of fabric for the full circle skirt.
Fabric can be any NON-stretch woven fabric – so cotton quilting fabrics, or lighter weight chambray, linen, voile, lawn etc…remember it will be single layer so nothing should be see-through.
You will also need the following:
One or 2 spools of all-purpose thread to match or contrast
One 7″ zipper per skirt (2 total) – regular closed bottom, not separating, not invisible, not metal
