Tamarack Jacket


Learn to make this beautiful quilted (lined) jacket, great for fall and springand great as a layering item.  Learn simple garment construction techniques, quilting techniques and how to apply bias binding finishes.  You will also have the option of adding a closure to the jacket!  This jacket is the perfect addition to your wardrobe, and even better since it will be made by you!

Skill Level: Intermediate – some prior garment sewing experience needed.  No quilting experience necessary.

Supply List:

Tamarack Jacket Pattern by Grainline Studio available at Firecracker Fabrics – please note we will be doing a patch pocket option
Fabric yardage requirement as specified for your size on the pattern – there is an outside fabric, a lining, and batting needed for the quilting.  All available at Firecracker.  No stretch, or fleece or sweatshirt fabrics.  Fabric should be suitable for quilting.
Also – you will choose to purchase either 1/2 yard of extra fabric if you want to make your own bias tape, or if you feel that might be too much work if you are less advanced you could just to purchase pre-made bias tape, then you need 5 yards of 1/2″ wide double fold bias tape.
All-purpose polyester or cotton thread (2 small spools or one larger spool)
Closure options will be discussed at the first class and then you may choose to purchase something as a closure (closure is optional)
