Summer Dress Camp
This summer work on your pattern reading skills while making your very own summer dress. The Lakeside Tieback dress from Simple Life Pattern Company, pattern is available in size 2T-16. This dress features a beautiful tie back and elastic casing that makes this a great “grow with me” dress. The slightly scooped front bodice is the perfect delicate touch for elegance and comfort. Lakeside also features wonderful spaghetti straps that lead to a classic scoop back above the bow ties. This camp is suggested for students entering 1st-9th grade who have prior experience. Pattern is included in cost of the camp.
Recommended Experience Level: All students who have taken Intro class.
Prerequisite: Intro To Sewing For Kids (or similar)
No need to purchase pattern. Pattern is included in the camp.
Yardage requirements:
for all fabric widths and sizes (size 8-16)
2 yards for main fabric – see fabric recommendations below
1/2 yard of solid quilting cotton or muslin for lining (NOT a slippery lining fabric).
2 spools of all-purpose thread (preferably polyester)
pattern & elastic provided
If your child will want to make a longer length dress (something below the knee) add 1/4 yard to the total main fabric you purchase.
*Fabric Recommendations – quilting cottons, cotton lawn or voile or other light-mid weight woven fabrics. Only more advanced students should choose something slippery for this dress. No knit(stretch) fabrics. Nothing too thick, stiff or bulky, it will lay more nicely and flow better if the fabric is not stiff or bulky.
