This is a more advanced bag pattern (but also one of the simpler Noodlehead patterns) so it is a good starting point for trying a bag pattern.
Keep in mind bag projects can be a more expensive project due to the pattern cost, interfacing and hardware and zippers. There are a few suggestions listed for eliminating interfacing or using less expensive options to help with the cost. This particular bag is not as pricey as some other bag options since it doesn’t have the many hardware types needed. You could choose to eliminate the interfacing all-together to reduce cost and make it a bit of an easier bag to make. The interfacing stiffens the bag, so if the fabric is already a heavier fabric it would be fine to eliminate it all-together. It just makes a bit softer bag.

Firefly Tote Pattern available at Firecracker Fabrics
You may choose to make either size. Featured in our pic is the Tote (which is the larger) size. Please check the supply list listed on Firecrackers website when you view the back of the envelope and choose your supplies based on the size you choose. Any questions let me know!
Firecracker has so many amazing canvas fabric choices, you will find it hard to decide which to use!
**We suggest choosing a canvas fabric for the exterior and a quilting cotton in print or solid for the interior. However, if you are okay with a softer and less structured bag you can use quilting cotton for exterior as well.
Please bring the required yardage based on the size you choose for interior, exterior, accent, interfacings (SF101 and med weight interfacing), cotton webbing and drawstring cord.
SF101 is a more expensive but very high quality interfacing. Or for a less expensive option go with Heat n bond medium weight non-woven fusible interfacing.
You will also need a spool of all purpose polyester thread
No Rivets necessary
Zipper must be the correct size if choosing metal. If plastic it can be longer. And for a metal look that isn’t really metal choose zipper by the yard! Then you can make lots of bags!
