The Davenport Dress
Learn dressmaking skills while making this beautiful throw on dress (no zippers!) which features full sleeves with an elastic ruffle hem as well as a shoulder flutter detail. The hem hits above the knees. The front neckline is gathered in with elastic, and the waist features a drawstring so this dress can be pulled on and off without any closures. Plus, the dress has pockets too! Pattern is sized XS-7X.

This pattern is suitable for advanced beginner to intermediate students. You must have prior experience using the machine, such as the Intro to Sewing class as well as some beginner level pattern experience. If you have never used a pattern before it is suggested that you take the Basics of Working with a Pattern class or do a little work at home before this class so you can try to tackle a simpler style first before moving on to this one.

1 yard of 3/8″ wide elastic

*Suggested fabrics:
Woven fabrics. It is suitable for light to midweight fabrics. Fabrics like cotton lawn or linen will make this a great dress for spring and summer! If you want it to be a bit fancier, it can be sewn from a silk or something with a bit of drape.
*You may need extra fabric if it has an nap, is directional or striped and needs matching
