Hand-Piecing And Hand-Quilting Workshop

Learn how to piece quilt blocks entirely by hand – from making templates and cutting fabrics to assembly! Starting with a simple block, students will learn how to handle seam management, make consistent stitches, and secure previous handwork. You will learn to baste a quilt with thread and needle, and start practicing hand-quilting. We will try both big stitch quilting and more traditional small hand-quilting stitches.

In this workshop-style class, we will not work towards a specific project, but Julie will help you plan a small project of your choice and we will play with hand-quilting styles to get you started on your hand-quilting practice!

Any skill level can join this class, but it will be most enjoyable if you have a reasonable comfort level with a needle and thread – if you’ve bound a quilt by hand and enjoyed it, that’s plenty! Please ask if you’re not sure!

Please note the break between session 2 & 3 for homework completion!
