There are 2 pattern choices to use for the starting point for the color block dress camp, and it depends on your size and style which you will be using. The pattern is provided for you at no cost and included in the camp.
Please let me know if you prefer this pattern – the mini-eucalypt (however this also comes in an adult size if you prefer this style
it goes size up to 12 years
Or if you want to go with the adult pattern and possibly use the smallest size of that pattern – from 100 Acts of sewing size XS and up.
They both are pretty similar in shape. the 100 acts dress is more full at the hemline whereas the other one is a little straighter. Slightly different hemline shape on one to the other.
**THE PATTERN IS INCLUDED IN THE CLASS – YOU DO NOT NEED TO PURCHASE IT!
Supplies needed:
- Fabric – Most woven (non-stretch) fabric is fine. Denim light to mid weight, linen and blends, cotton quilting. No rayon, no knits. Bring at least 3 cuts of fabric – but you may bring more as well!
Purchase or bring from at-home supply the following:
- 1 yard of a fabric A
- 1 yard of a fabric B
- and ½ yard of a fabric C (for shorter students I would get ¾ yard of A and B, and still ½ yard of C
- 2 small spools or one large spool of all-purpose thread
- one 7″ (or longer is okay) regular closed bottom (preferably non-metal unless student has prior zipper sewing experience and zipper must be correct length) zipper for a zipper pouch to match
This is a great camp to use up larger scraps from home that you love from prior projects!
