Linden Sweatshirt

The Linden Sweatshirt gives a modern update to the classic sweatshirt. Featuring a relaxed fit, raglan sleeves, and a graceful slightly scooped neckline, this sweatshirt is perfect for fall layering. Choose from two style options featured, with long or short sleeve options. All sewing will be done on a regular sewing machine, so if you want to learn about sewing with stretch fabric without a serger this is a great class! Plus – it’s a perfect simple item that can make a great gift for the holidays!

Pre-Requisites

Recommended Experience Level: Beginner – Advanced beginner. You should be able to thread and comfortably operate a sewing machine and understand basic cutting principles and how to sew a seam. It is okay if this is your first garment project, however you should have at least one sewing project under your belt. It is okay to take this class with having only taken the Intro to Sewing class. If this is your first time sewing a garment, we recommend not using a slinky knit for this project!

Supplies

Linden Sweatshirt pattern by Grainline studio – available at Firecracker Fabrics. The pattern goes up to size 18 ( 44″ bust).
- The instructor can grade up a size or 2 if needed (please let us know)
Fabric yardage as specified by the pattern (you can pick which version you want to make)
- suggest Medium weight knits with a minimum of 20% stretch such as French terry, sweatshirt fleece, sweater knits, and jersey.
- Extra fabric may be needed to match plaids, stripes, or one-way design prints.
1 spool of all-purpose thread
