Make your own Custom Flughafen with Rebekah Joy of Flux Bene
In this class you will use the Flux Bene Flughafen DIY Guide & Pattern Pieces to upcycle a second hand button up shirt into a cropped shirt with large chest pockets and cuffed short sleeves. There are options to add or remove volume from your garment to add visual interest & tailor it to your desired fit
In this class you will learn/ practice:
- Considerations for upcycling vs. sewing from scratch
- Intermediate alterations
- Combining different fabrics together for visual interest
- Creating patch pockets
- Making straight grain hem tape
- Creating double sided cuffs
Teacher Bio
Rebekah Joy is a full time textile artist living & working on the North Side of Pittsburgh. Since 2017 Rebekah has been focused on Flux Bene, a line of minimal waste gender neutral garments that she produces with the help of a few talented friends. Rebekah has set the goal of facilitating the reuse of 10,000 garments.
