Recreate Your Favorite Garment
Do you have that one item in your wardrobe that you have loved to pieces? Or have you found the perfect vintage garment but it’s not your size? Have you thought about trying to recreate that item? In this class, you will learn the techniques on how to transfer your garments’ pattern to paper, then cut and test a muslin for fit corrections, before leaving the class with a workable pattern to recreate your favorite garment!
Intermediate to Advanced. You should already have experience with using patterns, this should not be the first garment you have ever made in this class. Any questions, feel free to ask!
- Actual garment from home you would like to copy.
- Muslin fabric (this will not necessarily be actual muslin but a suitable sub fabric similar to the actual fabric) – this is not needed the first class, so plan to discuss with instructor after the first class a suitable fabric to use for a muslin
- A spool of all purpose thread and any notions needed, again this can be discussed and brought to the 2nd class

*Please note you may choose any garment to bring to this class. Please choose accordingly based on your skills and note that if you choose a very complex design or something more complicated to make this will just affect the amount of work you can accomplish during class. Or, some outside of class work may be needed.
