Speedy Intro to English Paper Piecing

A quick introduction to the popular English Paper Piecing method of hand-sewing patchwork. Learn how to put together hexagon shapes and turn a small piece of patchwork into an adorable zipper pouch!

Pre-Requisites

Recommended Experience Level: Advanced Beginner (must know how to thread and use the sewing machine and have done some basic sewing).  More advanced student who would like to learn or improve their EPP skills welcome too!!

Supplies

Be sure to check out Firecracker Fabrics – they carry all supplies for this class!

  • 3 fat quarters *or* 2 fat quarters and 3-4 scraps from Firecracker Fabrics scrap basket (min 2” wide)
  • Pack of 1.5” paper hexagon templates
  • 10” or longer all-purpose nylon zipper
  • 1/2 yd Pellon SF101 Shape-Flex Woven Fusible Interfacing
  • Water-soluble fabric glue pen or stick
  • Hand-sewing needles (Clover Black Gold Sharps recommended)
  • All-purpose thread in a neutral to match fabrics
