Amethyst Project Bag

This is a more challenging bag pattern for the advanced student.  This sort of bag pattern has more components, and will teach the young sewist new skills as well as sewing a zipper along a curved seam!  It is a more costly project due to the lengthy supply list, however the project should last the whole semester (fall, winter or spring).  And it’s a great way to keep the sewing supplies and all your students project items organized.

Level : Advanced
Time Needed: 7-8 sessions (a full series)

Supplies Needed

Bag Pattern can be purchased HERE from Sewsweetness.com – please print instructions as well for student to follow along.

Option 1:  This is the option you will use if purchasing supplies from Firecracker Fabrics!!

  • Purchase zipper by the yard in a color of your choice from Firecracker fabrics and this can be used for all 3 zippers needed.  If you have zipper by the yard and need to know if you have enough left from a prior project please reach out to me.

Option 2: This is most likely the option you will use if you purchase zippers elsewhere.

Purchase the following 3 zippers:

  • 16” or longer all-purpose/dress zipper (not invisible and not separating, not metal)
