This is a great intermediate pattern. This is the free Anything But Basic Kid’s Tee pattern. You can print this at home to use in class or we do have a copy if you forget, your student can trace a copy to use in class. It’s a great opportunity to learn about sewing with knits. So for a student who has done a few sewing projects following the intro class and is ready to try working with stretch fabrics, a basic t-shirt is a great place to start!

*You will then need to either print it on 8.5 x 11 paper and tape together at home or we will tape together in class (please be sure you check the scale and make sure it prints the correct size. The pattern has a block to measure to make sure it’s the correct size. - Fabric
Short Sleeve option – 1 yard fabric
3/4 or long sleeve – 1.5 yards
(please check size chart if you are doing a shirt of a toddler or baby)
*It is preferable to get fabric in advance and prewash/dry the fabric in case of shrinkage. If not, please plan to lay flat to dry to help prevent possible shrinkage or we can size up as needed too.Medium weight knits approx 60″ wide – slinky knits are more challenging, so for a more beginner friendly project go with a stable knit or double knit, something not super slinky and overly stretchy or thin. - 1 spool of all-purpose thread
