Cat plush

This cat plush is a great beginner level project for the young sewist and will provide an opportunity to try out using fluffy/soft fabrics like fleece, and sew curves in a simple plush pattern!  This is also a great opportunity to try out some simple hand embroidery on the face.

Level : Advanced beginner
Time Needed: About 2-3 sessions

Supplies Needed:

Pattern is a free pattern, student will trace a copy at the studio.  No need to bring a pattern.  Pattern is from scratchandstitch.com (feel free to check it out for other ideas)

  • Plush Fabric(fleece or similar) for body of cat (or could also choose to use quilting cotton or non-stretch flannel for a slightly “flatter” look. – 1/3 yard
  • 1 spool of all-purpose thread
  • small bag of poly fill
  • We can use studio scraps of felt for face features and inside of ear
  • Embroidery floss from the studio stash can be used for the face
