Open Studio

What to Expect

Open studio is a mostly independent work time (without instructors) where anyone with basic to advanced skills can come with friends to work on a project, get advice from fellow students, have fun and sew! Don’t want to cut out your fabric on the floor or a small table at home? Come and use our large cutting tables. Is your machine not working? Come and use ours! However if you need instruction on your project, you will need to sign up for a formal class or workshop!

Prerequisites

In order to attend open studio you must have taken a class or lesson at Cut & Sew Studio or you will need to sign up for a short “certification” class so that you will be comfortable using the equipment available to you. If you would like to use the serger or the embroidery machine you must have used them in class and feel comfortable operating it solo or attended a certification class. To find out about attending a certification class, please email or call the studio.

Hours

You may come to open studio on a drop in basis – but you are welcome to call in advance to make sure space is available. If you want to use the serger specifically please reserve in advance, otherwise it is available on a first come first serve basis. You may pay by the hour for the time you stay at the studio, or you can purchase open studio hours in advance at a discount HERE. Please check back here regularly to see upcoming open studio hours:
